La meta del desarrollo espiritual es la purificación del amor. El amor es nuestra esencia más íntima, nuestra naturaleza, y nuestra realización. Sin embargo, el amor que es la energía básica de nuestro Ser es obstruido por la falsa conciencia desarrollada durante la infancia, y que ha sido petrificada por conflictos inconscientes, la adaptación a normas sociales, e hipnotizada por limitaciones ideológicas de nuestros horizontes. Para liberar nuestras mentes de semejantes restricciones, y abrir nuestro intelecto y corazón a nuestro vasto e ilimitado potencial, como individuos y como una comunidad unida de Seres-realizados, es el foco de la aspiración del gran trabajo de la auto-transformación.

Tenemos el potencial para crear un mundo armonioso, aplicar nuestra inteligencia a la solución de todos los problemas que el mundo enfrenta actualmente. El obstáculo es el ego humano. El ego en su forma actual dominante representa un fracaso de la humanidad en crecer a nuestro último estado de madurez psico-espiritual. Ese fracaso ahora debe ser rectificado. The other day a student reacted to the idea that we should be working to save the world by insisting that he didn’t give a damn about the world and he only wanted to straighten out his own life. This attitude is far too limited to allow success, even in its own terms. It may therefore be useful to clarify the Sat Yoga position.

There are two primary reasons to be dedicated to saving the world. The first reason is operational. The very act of dedicating one’s life to that project will impel the emergence of the greatest compassion and wisdom from within one’s being. This emergence and unification of the highest qualities of our essential nature will transform the ego.

Clearly, God does not need your ego’s help to save the world that God created, a world that includes you only as a short-lived, egocentric, pathetic animal. And if God wants this world destroyed once and for all, no ego has the power to contest that. It is for your own sake that the effort to save the world should be undertaken. The consciousness that so dedicates itself will thus become detached from its egocentricity and will come to function effortlessly as a vehicle for the Supreme Self. One will have created the conditions for the realization of the Unconditioned Essence to fully blossom. (more…)
